As the year 2011 has come to a close, we want to say thank you to all of you who have stood with us in your thoughts, prayers and faithful giving through the year. On behalf of the 45 national mis- sionaries under the GHI umbrella, Dottie and I want to say again
thank you so much!

Although I was not able to celebrate our Christmas get together with my family at our daughter’s home due to my surgery, I nevertheless was so aware of His pres- ence, of this season of hope and the realization that GHI is right on target taking the Gospel and offering to the masses an authentic hope in Jesus Christ Emmanuel –
God with us!

We trust you had a great Thanksgiving Season! However, mine was spent in a hospital room recovering from surgery. I was approved for surgery on Friday the 18th and a 2 1/2 hour surgery was performed on the 21st at 3 PM. Things went very well. I now have some new hardware in my low back that is helping to fuse my L6 to my lower S1. I came home on the 25th and I‘m doing my best to stay still and heal. This is largely happening because I have the best caregiver in the whole world, Dottie and the presence of the Great Physician there every moment assuring me that He is always, without exception, doing all things well!

Sorry for the November prayer letter getting to you so late but I have been battling an intestinal virus for the last week and only now just having enough strength to sit and type. In spite of what is going on in my body, the body of Christ that comprises the GHI staff in Ghana and India has been battling the enemy victoriously on their fronts as well. This October we had reports of nearly 10,000 coming forward to repent of their sins and receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. So pray for the follow up work and read on as I share with you some encounters that occurred this past month that would mirror events from the book of Acts:

Greetings in the Name of the Lord! I am sitting at my desktop and thinking about how the “much more” of Romans 5 transitions into the day to day life of GHI. As Paul deals with the overflow of being justified by faith, GHI also stands in the eternal fact that what God initiates, He sustains, which in itself is a “much more” life. He is the One who is forever giving much more than we can ever ask or think. He always does exceedingly abundantly above all we could ever ask or anticipate. What a Provider we have; but built in to all the promises of God and what He is initiating in our lives, is the idea that none of what God desires to do for us will happen apart from it being accompanied by a living faith to believe and expect it to be on the way. In Hebrews 11 alone, all 21 of our Old Testaments friends were said to have been justified by faith. This means they listened to what God was saying and walked it out with Him. This is what we endeavor to do in this ministry.

The Bible says, “God is a sun and a shield, He gives grace and glory and no good thing will He with- hold from them that walk uprightly”, Psalm 84.11. What a promise of blessing and favor we live under as we pursue righteousness.

It has been our pleasure this year especially to experience His sun! In our immediate area we have had 50+ days of 100 degrees or more and our earth is parched. We are now rationing water. We meet every Monday night to seek God’s face for rain. There are many who would not associate the lack of rain with God at all but I seem to remember God withholding rain in Elijah’s day for 3 1/2 years for far less than what we as a nation are guilty of. Personally, I think it is far more presumptive to think that what we are experiencing is any less than the judgment of God on our land with this and other flooding and earthquakes that are happening. I firmly believe God is saying, return to me, repent and I will become that sun and shield that I have always intended to be. You could possibly call me a bit of a religious fanatic, go ahead, but it is something to spiritually take on board.

What you see in the picture is not just a large group of people but the growth of a saint. Jeff Net- tles is a long time friend of mine who was saved in 1985 under my ministry when Dottie and I were doing ministry in Germany. Five years later, he left the USAF and stopped caring for F16’s and started caring for the flock. After doing youth ministry for 10 years, he planted a new church in Platteville, WI in 2001.

Over the last 20 years, he has been to India with us many times and in this picture you see him giving an invitation with hands going up to say they have prayed to receive Christ as their Savior! This is what short term mission trips are about – getting in front of as many people as we can in 14 days on the ground and leaving the follow up to our missionaries there. Jeff was joined by another long time evangelist friend Charlie Ross from Scotland. Together they crisscrossed the state of Tamil Nadu preaching in 35 venues to 32,368 people and witnessed 23,530 make decisions for Christ. They were joined by our college students and missionaries there who are daily bringing people to Christ. Many thanks to our Director James Sundar, his son Sam and wife Fay, who arranged the meetings and took care of Jeff and Charlie for those days; it was a very fruitful time of harvesting!

Just 8 days ago, Dottie and I lost our pastor of 13 years, Dr. Tommy Teague. He was a dear friend to us and GHI. Our loss is beyond words. He was leading a tour in Israel when he suffered a fatal heart attack. We ask for special prayer for his family and for our church as we grieve this massive loss.

I am writing you in my last week of an interim, pastoral ministry in England for a another friend and his wife. In spite of being away from Dottie for such a long time, God has been good to us in so many ways, so thank you for your ongoing prayer support! In addition, renewing some old friendships of ours and the great weather here has made it almost bearable!

I thought I would feature the Ghana teams this month and share with you some of the things that they deal with as they see around 10,000 people a month come to Christ. They are indeed dedicated, hard working soldiers of the Cross. We sing “Onward Christian Soldiers”, but they are the genuine article, the ones we are singing about; so please continue to read on and be blessed. Thanks for standing with us with your prayers and financial gifts. It wouldn’t be happening apart from your standing with us in the battle.

Greetings in the name of the Lord! Well, the last two months has been interesting with the earthquakes in Japan and other places of the world.

In addition, spring has arrived with plenty of storms, tornadoes and wildfires hopping around, further reminding us of the unpredictability of nature.
In contrast, God’s Word reminds us that in spite of what is going on around us, nothing can separate us from His love and presence. God’s relationship to us is constant and consistent and it is you and I that must choose to believe and appropriate all His promises that deepen our relationship with Him. We may have storms and earthquake size happenings in our lives with the loss of job, sickness, a family death or even losing a home because of the economy, but in the midst of all the trials, He is the ever present, comforting One who is there to take us over to the other side. AMEN? So let’s move on.

God has given us a great first quarter in 2011. First of all I want to say thanks to our 45 missionaries in the fields of Ghana and India, who have been fervently shaking the bushes bringing forth the harvest. With all the reports now in, we have seen our teams complete 6 projects with 197 meetings, preaching to 70,084 people with 28,932 people making first time decisions for Christ. In addition, we have planted two new churches in Ghana. These faithful men and women could not be there harvesting apart from your prayers and generosity.

God has also answered prayer on our behalf beginning with some new partners who have come on board with us by directing their mission giving our way. Several Sunday Bible classes (totally unsolicited) have contacted us to say they wanted to jump in and be involved directly with international missions so for that, we thank them for their trust.
